NOTE-- We retired the BidMagic construction estimating software in 2001. It has been replaced by Goldenseal construction estimating software.

We still include this BidMagic estimating software manual as a convenience for users of our older program. Many features are similar, in Goldenseal estimating.

The BidMagic painter estimating software includes unit costs for painting and paint preparation.

Paint Estimating

This category covers interior and exterior painting.

NOTE: If you subcontract painting for a flat fee, you can enter the actual bid directly instead of itemizing costs (see page 255).

Painting Cost Subcategories

BidMagic paint estimating software divides painting costs into several subcategories:

Prep Work covers all scraping, sanding, spackling and other work done preparatory to painting.

Interior Painting covers painting of all interior surfaces. The unit prices in this category are adjusted for the number of coats used, as set on the Finish Dimensions card (see page 243).

Exterior Painting covers painting of all exterior surfaces. The unit prices in this category are adjusted for the number of coats used, as set on the Finish Dimensions card (see page 243).

Other Painting gives you a place to put any other painting costs not covered elsewhere on this card.
