Estimating Cabinetry

NOTE-- We retired the BidMagic construction estimating software in 2001. It has been replaced by Goldenseal construction estimating software.

We still include this BidMagic estimating software manual as a convenience for users of our older program. Many features are similar, in Goldenseal estimating.

The BidMagic construction estimating software includes unit costs for kitchen cabinets, countertops and other cabinetry work.

Cabinetry Estimating

The Cabinetry category includes kitchen and bathroom cabinets, countertops, and specialty cabinetry. To get to the Cabinetry card, click on the Cabinetry, Tile & Glass button in the Specs Directory, then choose Cabinetry from the pop-up menu.

Cabinetry Subcategories

BidMagic cabinetry estimating software divides the Cabinetry category into several cost subcategories:

Kitchen Cabinets covers kitchen wall cabinets and base cabinets. Three general price ranges of cabinets are included. If you install a particular brand of cabinet frequently, you may want to add specific cabinet models to the price book.

Countertops covers Formica, butcher block, Corian, and other countertop materials.

Bath & Other Cabinets handles bathroom vanity cabinets and custom cabinetry. In many cases you will estimate custom cabinetry 'on the fly' (see page 366), and then enter it by hand into the 'other' category here.
