NOTE-- We retired the BidMagic construction estimating
software in 2001. It has been replaced by Goldenseal construction
estimating software.
We still include this BidMagic estimating software manual
as a convenience for users of our older program. Many features are
similar, in Goldenseal estimating.

To unlock a nudge button, hold down the Option or Command key and click on the padlock icon.
It will return to being
a normal lockable nudge button. You can now adjust the amount in the field, just as you would with any other
nudge button.
If Dimensions are changed, an unlocked nudge button will not be changed. The only
way to get back the 'suggested' quantity
would be to lock it again.
To unlock all of the nudge buttons on a card, choose Unlock Card from the Bid menu.
To unlock all the locked values throughout the estimate, choose Unlock Dimensions and/or Unlock Specifications
from the Bid menu.
Adjusting a Suggested Dimension
In some cases you will want to take a 'suggested' dimension,
and adjust it up or down because of some special condition. For example, you may want to use the
wallboard area calculated for an addition,
but add 100 square feet to it for work done in the existing building. To do so:
- First enter all dimensions
that are used to calculate the quantity you want to adjust. NOTE: The 'suggested' formula for
any dimension is always based on cards earlier in the sequence (to the left), or fields closer
to the top of the same card.
- Lock the quantity that you want to adjust, unless it is already locked (see
page 87). The 'suggested' quantity
for that item will be calculated and displayed.
- Option-click on the padlock to unlock the quantity.
- Adjust the field up or down as needed.
