Contract Work

Checking for Specific Work

All of the Specification clauses included in Spec Writer Clauses file are based on a simple, generic description of each task in the project.

If you have specific brand names and/or model numbers that you plan to use, it's a good idea to check over the Spec Sheet and replace the generic descriptions with a more precise wording.

For example, the Spec Sheet created by Spec Writer may have a clause that states Contractor will install 3 casement windows with a sash size of approximately 30" by 36". You might want to change that to something like Contractor will install 3 casement windows, Anderson model CS3036.

HINT: If you use certain materials frequently, you can change the Clauses file in the MacNail construction management software so it automatically includes the specific brand or model (see page 117).
