software, back in 2000. Replacing it is Goldenseal,
a complete software package for Macintosh and Windows
that handles construction
spec writing, plus accounting, construction
estimating, and project
management, It is just as easy to make a new contract in Goldenseal,
as it was with MacNail Spec Writer.
Creating a Construction Contract
To create a new general contract from the MacNail construction
management software, follow these steps:
1.
Choose New Contract from the Specs menu.
NOTE: If you don't see a Specs menu, first open the Spec Writer Manager (see page 16).
2. You'll see a dialog where you can decide exactly what to include in the contract.
3. To include one or more header files, turn on the Include Headers option, then click on each header
file that you want to include.
HINT: Hold down the Command ( ) key to select multiple files.
4. To include one or more footer files, turn on the Include Footers option, then click on each footer file
that you want to include.
5. Select the type of output file you'd like to receive-- either a word processor (text) document
or a spreadsheet document (see pages 48-49).
6. To include stock clauses, turn on the Include Stock Clauses option.
7. To include project specifications, turn on the Include Specifications option, and click on the type of
source file you'd like to use (see pages 49-50). If the active file is an Estimate, Schedule, Project
List, Spec Sheet or a Clauses file, you'll also be able to use This file-- all items or This file-- selected
range.
NOTE: You'll need to create and prepare a source file before you can get specs from
it (see pages 34-39).
8. When everything is set up as you'd like, click OK.
9. If you turned on the Include Stock Clauses option, you'll be asked which stock clauses to include
(see page 51).
10. If you turned on the Include Specifications option, you'll be asked to choose a source file.
11. The contract will be created automatically. |
