Construction Contract Clauses Files

NOTE-- We retired MacNail back in 2000. and replaced it with Goldenseal-- a complete software package for Macintosh and Windows that handles construction spec writing, plus accounting, construction estimating, and project management, You can have any number of contract clauses in Goldenseal (up to a limit of two billion).

Using Multiple Clauses Files

If for some reason you are using more than one series of item codes in different estimators from the MacNail construction estimating software, then you may want to have more than one Clauses file.

To do so, choose Spec Writer Options from the Options menu, and make sure Use just one Clauses file is turned off.

Whenever you do anything that involves a Clauses file in the MacNail construction management software, you 'll be asked which file to use.

Creating a new Clauses File

You'll only need to create a new Clauses file if you have estimators using more than one set of item codes, and you decide to use more than one Clauses file.

To create a brand new Clauses file, follow these steps:
1. Choose New Clauses File from the Specs menu.
2. Type in a name for the new file, then click OK.
3. A new blank Clauses file will be created for you.

To create a new Clauses file from another Clauses file, follow these steps:
1. Open the Clauses file you want to copy.
2. Choose Save As from the File menu. Make sure you are in the Spec Files folder.
3. Type in a new name for the file, making sure that the name ends with the word Clauses.
4. Click Save.
