Formatting Contracts

NOTE-- We replaced MacNail construction software with Goldenseal, in 2000. The MacNail manuals are still online, as a courtesy to folks who still use it. Goldenseal is a complete software package for Macintosh and Windows, which includes construction spec writing, accounting, construction estimating, and project management, Once you've create a construction contract from Goldenseal, you'll also format it in a word processor (which has much better skill at formatting text than our estimating & accounting program).

Formatting Construction Contracts

Once you have opened the text file with your word processor, you can format it to look however you'd like. You can:

* Set font type and font size.
* Set paragraph spacing and margins.
* Highlight section headings in bold or with a larger font size.
* Insert your company letterhead, logo, or other graphics.
* Insert detail drawings, if required.
* Spell check the contract, and look for error messages (see page 61).
* Print proof documents for double-checking in printed form.
* Print final documents.
