Choosing Stock Clauses

NOTE-- In 2000 we retired all parts of MacNail construction software, and replaced it with Goldenseal, which is a complete software package for Macintosh and Windows. Goldenseal handles contract writing, plus accounting, construction estimating, and project management, It also includes "boilerplate" stock clauses, called Contract Clauses.

Choosing Contract Stock Clauses

If you turned on Include Stock Clauses, after you click OK to the New Contract dialog, you'll be shown a dialog to choose which stock clauses are used in the contract by the MacNail project management software.

Turn on each Stock Clause you want to add to the contract (put an x by it), and leave the checkbox blank for those items you do not want in the contract.

The first seven check boxes show you basic clauses. Each creates a sentence that includes specific information about the project. Turn on each clause you'd like to include, and type the appropriate information into the text or number boxes for those items.

HINT: You can continue typing even if the text goes beyond the end of the box. To select text that isn't currently visible, drag the mouse to the right.

The remaining eight check boxes are for custom clauses in the MacNail construction management software. Each creates a sentence or paragraph describing some optional condition in the construction project. Turn on each one that you'd like to include in the contract.

To change the text of any stock clause or its location within the contract, click the Edit List button, or choose Stock Clauses from the Data menu (see page 106).
