Calculations & Printing

NOTE-- In 2000 we retired our MacNail construction software program, and replaced it with Goldenseal construction software. Goldenseal is an integrated program that handles accounting, construction estimating, and project management, plus simple construction project scheduling. The data in each Goldenseal schedule calculates automatically when you change its line items. You can also print a schedule report, with an itemized lists of tasks, dates and times.

Project Schedule Calculation

Excel has two different modes of Calculation, manual and automatic. You can switch between them by choosing Calculation from the Options menu.

When using manual calculation:
* You won't see the results of any changes in the MacNail construction scheduling software until you choose Calculate Now from the Options menu (or type command-equal sign).
* Data entry will go faster.

When using automatic calculation:
* You will see the results of any changes instantly.
* Data entry may go slower, since each change will cause all affected items to be recalculated.

Project Schedule Printing

You can choose *Print Selection to print out any part of a worksheet in the MacNail project management software. It is a vast improvement over Excel's normal (and awkward) printing methods.

To change the header that is printed at the top of every page, choose Page Setup from the File menu, and replace the text in the header with your own company name.
