Project Scheduling Extracts

NOTE-- We retired MacNail in 2000 or 2001, when we introduced the first version of Goldenseal construction business software. Like MacNail, Goldenseal is built for home builders, remodelers and other project-based businesses. Goldenseal is "run your whole business" software that creates simple construction schedules, and also covers your accounting, construction estimating, and project management needs. There are many reports and printed forms in Goldenseal, that you can use to get access to your business data.

Data Menu

The MacNail project management software adds eight additional commands to the Data menu.

WARNING: Do not use the Delete, Set Database or Set Criteria commands on MacNail worksheets. You will damage the functioning of the Query Box and the creation of reports if you do.

NOTE: Some of the Data menu commands may not be visible on a small screen. Drag the mouse down to the very bottom of the menu to see the remaining commands.

*Extract Special

Choose *Extract Special to get a list of all items that match the criteria in the Query Box.
Before using this command, type in criteria for the items you would like to extract (see page 62). To make sure you are getting the right items, use the Find command to jump to each item that matches the criteria (see page 63).

If your reminder is named Smith Reminder List, the *Extract Special command creates a new report file named

Smith Extract-- or Smith Extract 12/1/90 if you are including the date in report file names (see page 96).
Since the extraction is a separate file, you can add formulas and make format changes to it without damaging the original scheduling files from the MacNail construction scheduling software.
