Project Scheduling Troubleshooting

NOTE-- In 2000 we retired our MacNail construction software program, and replaced it with Goldenseal construction software. Goldenseal is an integrated program that handles accounting, construction estimating, and project management, plus simple construction project scheduling. It's a reliable, stand-alone program that does not require the Excel computer program.

Everything Looks Grey

You may have moved off to the right. Slide the scroll bar at the bottom of the screen all the way to the left.

There is a bug in some versions of Excel that will randomly turn the worksheet partially grey. When you use the scroll controls, the screen will become white again.

Extract Range Invalid

The extract or criteria may be damaged in the the MacNail construction scheduling software worksheet. Choose *Fix Database from the Options menu.

I'm Lost!

If you are lost within a worksheet, move the scroll bar at the right side of the window all the way to the top, and the scroll bar at the bottom of the window all the way to the left.

If you are lost among too many windows, use the MacNail menu to go to the desired worksheet. You can also use the Window menu to see any active file.

Interrupted or Unfinished Macros.

Some versions of Excel are sensitive to interference with some resources (things like Smart Alarms, or screen savers). When running a long Macro turn any screen savers off. Some screen savers will stop the operation of macros in the MacNail project management software (see page 69).

MacNail Menu Items Disappear

You may be in short menus. Choose Full Menus from the Options menu (Excel 2.2 only).

If some MacNail menu commands are greyed out, choose *Fix Menus from the Options menu.
