Project Reminder Files

NOTE-- We have replaced the entire MacNail software package with Goldenseal construction management software. Like MacNail, Goldenseal is designed for remodelers, construction contractors, and other project-based businesses. You can use Goldenseal for accounting, construction estimating, and project management, plus simple construction project scheduling. It includes a Problem Log for tracking "punch list" items, plus other tools to keep track of reminders and tasks.

Using Reminder Files

The MacNail project management software includes a Job Reminder List for each of your projects. The Job Reminder List for the Smith project is named the Smith Reminder List, for example. This file includes any reminders that apply to the Smith project.

When you use the *New Schedule command to set up a project schedule, a new Job Reminder List for the project is also created automatically.

The MacNail construction scheduling software also includes a Master Reminder List, which stores reminders for any job. You can "post" these reminders to the Job Reminder Lists by using the *Get Master Reminders command. The Master Reminder List "looks up" project names from the Master Index, which includes a list of projects, and a code number for each.

Also available is a Double-Check List that stores items that have been deleted from a reminder list, but that still need double-checking. Just because the plumber says the leak is fixed doesn't always mean that it's now OK!

The Reminder Master file stores general project reminders for each potential item in a project schedule.

MacNail's Punch Lists let you provide detailed "to do" lists for each of your major subcontractors and employee groups-- to help them find and fix problems, flaws and missing items in a timely manner. Punch Lists are especially useful near the end of a project.
