Project Reminders

NOTE-- We retired MacNail in 2000 or 2001, when we introduced the first version of Goldenseal construction business software. Like MacNail, Goldenseal is built for home builders, remodelers and other project-based businesses. Goldenseal is "run your whole business" software that creates simple construction schedules, and also covers your accounting, construction estimating, and project management needs. In Goldenseal, there are several types of records that help you to keep track of tasks, problems and reminders-- including the Problem Log, To Do List and Project Log.

Get Schedule Reminders

Use the *Get Schedule Reminders command to move reminders from a schedule or schedules to all affected Job Reminder Lists in the MacNail project management software. The code number from the schedule is looked up in the Reminder Master. This file contains reminder information for each item code.

Schedule reminders are "recurring reminders" for items that happen at the same point in each project.
If you want to change the reminders that are associated with any construction item, change the appropriate line in the Reminder Master (see page 126).

Running time: 1-3 seconds per schedule item.

*Get Master Reminders

The *Get Master Reminders command will move all reminders from the Master Reminder List to the individual Job Reminder Lists in the MacNail construction scheduling software. The Master Reminder List will first be sorted by job number. Then each Job Reminder List will be opened, and the information from the Master Reminder List will be posted to it.

If a Job Reminder List is not found, the reminder will remain in the Master Reminder List.

Running time: 1-2 seconds per reminder.
