Project Scheduling Troubleshooting |
NOTE-- In 2000 we retired MacNail, and replaced it with the improved Goldenseal construction software. However we still keep the manuals online, for die-hard MacNail users! Goldenseal is an integrated program that handles accounting, construction estimating, and project management, plus simple construction project scheduling. It's a vast improvement over MacNail! Memory is tight. Try anyway?-or-Warning: memory is tight. Operations may slow down You will need to close some documents or otherwise free up additional memory. See page 135. The MacNail project management software checks available memory, and warns you if there is too little for certain memory-intensive commands. You can "try anyway", but you may have to stop midway through the operation which may leave the worksheets in a partly-finished state. If that happens, close all worksheets without saving changes. Be sure to save all worksheets before you try anyway when you get this message. You may also be able to free up additional memory first (see page 135). Missing some Excel Menu Commands If you close a Manager in the MacNail construction scheduling software, cancel the close, and then close it again, some of the regular Excel menu items may be removed. To fix the damaged menus in either case, close all open Excel documents, and re-open the desired Manager. Printer is printing gibberish This is a printer problem. The printer didn't initialize correctly when turned on. Turn it off and back on. Scroll Bar is Stuck at the Bottom A bug in Excel 1.5 sometimes positions the vertical scroll bar at the bottom of the window while the worksheet is in the middle. To fix it: re-size the window using the size box at the bottom right (see page 131). |
