Master Reminder List

NOTE-- We have replaced the entire MacNail software package with Goldenseal construction management software. Like MacNail, Goldenseal is designed for remodelers, construction contractors, and other project-based businesses. You can use Goldenseal for accounting, construction estimating, and project management, plus simple construction project scheduling. All project "to do" items are stored in a single database within Goldenseal, but you can create reports to see items for one project, one employee or one subcontractor.

Using the Master Reminder List

The Master Reminder List stores reminders for all jobs in the MacNail construction scheduling software. You can keep reminders in the Master Reminder List, or use the *Get Master Reminders command (see page 61) to transfer them to individual Job Reminder Lists in the MacNail project management software.

The Master Reminder List looks something like this illustration.

Column A (job #) contains a job number for the item in question. You type in a code number based on the project codes stored in the Master Index (see page 125).
Column B (job name) displays the job name, which is "looked up" from the Master Index for you. You do not need to type into this column.
NOTE: If you made a typing error in column A, it will display an error message here.
Column C (when?) should be filled with the date to which the reminder applies. This can be either a deadline date, or the date when the reminder was first entered.
Column D (who?) contains the name of the person or group involved with the reminder.
Column E (where?) lets you list the room, floor, unit number, or other location for the reminder item.
Column F (what?) contains a brief description of the actual task or reminder item that needs attention.

Column G gives you space to type in comments of any kind.
