Printing Estimates |
NOTE-- We retired MacNail estimating in 2000, and replaced it with Goldenseal construction estimating software. There are still die-hard MacNail users, so we keep the manuals online for their use! Goldenseal is an integrated program that also includes accounting, scheduling and contract writing features. Goldenseal has a variety of printed forms to use for proposals or estimates, so you can have a much more professional 'look' than MacNail. Printed Estimates for Clients We have found that the Summation level makes a good 'bid presentation form' to give to clients, after you've created an estimate with the MacNail construction estimating software. To print it: 1. Choose *Print Estimate from the FILE menu. HINT: While setting up your estimators, choose Page Setup from the FILE menu to enter your company name into the page header so that it will be displayed on printed copies of your estimates. For more about the Page Header see your Excel manual. For a more versatile client presentation sheet, you can also choose *Quick
Summary to generate a project report (see page 129). You can rearrange or reformat it, change any
numbers, or otherwise 'tinker' with
it. Since it is an independent (and much smaller) worksheet, changes you make to the report will not affect
the actual estimate worksheet. Choose *MacNail Options from the OPTIONS menu to change a few display conditions
for the project
report. |
