Closing an Estimate

NOTE-- We retired MacNail estimating in 2000, and replaced it with Goldenseal construction estimating software. There are still die-hard MacNail users, so we keep the manuals online for their use! Goldenseal is an integrated program that also includes accounting, scheduling and contract writing features. It's much easier to use, than MacNail, with many improved estimating software features.

Close Estimate

Choose *Close Estimate to close the estimate which is closest to the front in the MacNail construction estimating software. The normal Excel dialog box, asking if you wish to save changes, will appear.

HINT: *Close Estimate closes all the windows for the current estimate. If you wish to close only one window, use the close box (see page 171). If there is only one window open, use either.

NOTE: When you close a large worksheet, such as an estimator, it will take some time for Excel to process. The screen may seem to freeze for a minute, then you will be able to work as normal.
