NOTE-- MacNail estimating was retired in 2000, and replaced with Goldenseal construction estimating software. There are still die-hard MacNail users, so we keep the manuals online for them! Goldenseal also includes accounting, scheduling and contract writing features. It stores unit prices in Cost Items, and combines them into construction Assemblies.

Storing Unit Prices

The MacNail construction estimating software can store your 'price book' of unit costs, so you'll be able to do more accurate construction estimates.

The following sections will describe each of four different methods of storing your construction unit costs-- listed in order of complexity. The method you use will depend on how complex your business is and how you want to use the MacNail construction management software.

Naturally, as time goes by, you can always 'step up' to a more sophisticated method of storing your 'price book', if you need to.
