Comparison Pricing |
NOTE-- We retired the MacNail estimating program in 2000, and replaced it with Goldenseal construction estimating software. There are still a significant number of die-hard MacNail users, so we keep the manuals online for them! Goldenseal is an integrated program that also includes accounting, scheduling and contract writing. It automatically updates prices from vendor purchases, and shows recent pricing for up to three different vendors. Comparison Price Worksheet Columns The purch. size columns (col. E and F) allow you to convert between two different material purchase sizes. EXAMPLE: If you normally buy roofing nails in 50 pound boxes but want to use 'pounds' as a unit in your assemblies and material takeoffs, type 50 into the purch. column. Type in the price of a 50 pound box of nails from each of your suppliers, and the price per pound will be computed and displayed in the net price column. For each of one, two or three suppliers, type in a material price, the name of the specific source, and the date of the most recent price quote that you've entered into the MacNail construction management software. Leave any excess cells blank, if you don't have prices from three different suppliers. NOTE: The Comparisons worksheet includes two hidden columns (C and D) between net price and purch. size. They calculate the material price, and also keep track of the most recent price change. You do not need to see these columns, and you should not change the formulas in these columns if you have made them visible. |
