New Price Requests

NOTE-- We retired the MacNail estimating program in 2000, and replaced it with Goldenseal construction estimating software. There are still a significant number of die-hard MacNail users, so we keep the manuals online for them! Goldenseal is an integrated program that also includes accounting, scheduling and contract writing features. It also lets you set up standard material price requests, via templates in Material Purchases.

New Price Request

Choose New Price Request to create a new Price Request file. You'll print this file and give it to your local suppliers when gathering the latest material prices for the MacNail construction management software (see page 99).

To make a new Price Request:

1. Have a Price Sheet as the active document (in front). To use all of the items in the Price Sheet, proceed to the next step. To include just some of the items on the sheet, first drag the mouse through those lines you'd like to include in the Price Request.
NOTE: You may need to use the Sort Special command first to group the Price Sheet by category and/or price source.
2. Choose New Price Request from the File menu.
3. Click on either all rows or selected rows only, depending on the materials you'd like to include in the Price Request sheet. Also type in a file name, if the suggested name is not what you want.
NOTE: MacNail uses the text in the 'active' cell on the worksheet as a suggested file name.
4. A new Price Request file will be created-- in the example above, it will be named Plumbing Price Request.
