Estimating Price Master Structure |
NOTE-- We retired the MacNail estimating program in 2000, and replaced it with Goldenseal construction estimating software. There are still a significant number of die-hard MacNail users, so we keep the manuals online for them! Goldenseal is an integrated program that also includes accounting, scheduling and contract writing. Estimating Price Master Columns D to J The skill column (col. D) contains the skilled person-hours per unit quantity for each item, the unskill column (col. E) contains the unskilled person-hours per unit, and the mat column (col. F) contains the material cost per unit. See pages 80-85 for details on how these numbers can be calculated and used by the MacNail construction management software. NOTE: In some cases these columns may contain a formula rather than a number. Formulas are stored in the Price master with a # (pound sign) at the beginning, rather than an = (equal sign). The unit column (col. G) shows the unit size for the item-- sf (square feet), lf (lineal feet)
or some other size. The cat column (col. H) lists the construction cost category to which the item belongs. The suggested column (col. I) contains the 'suggested' formula used for this item. The equal sign (=) in the actual formula is replaced with a pound sign (#) so the formula will not actually compute on the Price Master. The skill wage column (col. J) shows the wage rate that will be used to compute skilled labor costs in an estimate or estimator in the MacNail construction estimating software. |
