Compared Prices |
NOTE-- We retired the MacNail estimating program in 2000, and replaced it with Goldenseal construction estimating software. We keep these instructions online for our die-hard MacNail users! Goldenseal is an integrated program that also includes accounting, scheduling and contract writing. It automatically tracks and displays the most recent prices from up to three different vendors, for each material price in the cost database. Prices in a Price Sheet that have 'compared' as a source are calculated based on multiple prices entered in the corresponding Comparisons file. When you receive new compared prices, type them into the MacNail Comparisons file (or some other Comparisons file if you are using more than one set of Material Price files). Type in a new date and price for each price item, just as you'd do in the MacNail Price Sheet. Command-hyphen will enter today 's date automatically, just as it does on any Excel worksheet. You can compare up to three different supplier prices in the Comparisons file. The MacNail construction management software will calculate a net price, based on your choice of the average or the minimum price among the listed suppliers (or halfway between the average and minimum prices). See pages 181-183 for more about Comparisons worksheets. |
