Material Assemblies

NOTE-- We retired the MacNail estimating program in 2000, and replaced it with Goldenseal construction estimating software. There are still a significant number of die-hard MacNail users, so we keep the manuals online for them! Goldenseal is an integrated program that also includes accounting, scheduling and contract writing. It uses Assemblies which combine labor and material unit costs.

Working with Material Assemblies

The MacNail construction management software uses material assemblies to calculate material unit prices. You can create your own material assemblies, or change the assemblies that already come with The MacNail construction estimating software. You can also use assemblies when you update material unit prices, and when you make material takeoffs with MacNail Scheduling.

Material assemblies give you a permanent material price database, since the list of materials needed to build something won't change with time, even if the price of the materials changes!
