Changing Materials |

NOTE-- We retired the MacNail estimating program in 2000, and replaced it with Goldenseal construction estimating software. There are still a significant number of die-hard MacNail users, so we keep the manuals online for them! Goldenseal is an integrated program that also includes accounting, scheduling and contract writing. It stores material prices in Cost Items (which also cover labor, equipment and subcontractor unit costs). Changing Material Unit Costs To change an existing material item, scroll to the appropriate line in the Price Sheet, and type in new information. HINT: To make it easier to find material items,
choose Sort Special from the Data menu, and sort the worksheet by material code or by category. If
you are entering many new items from one supplier, sort by supplier. If you change an item's material code, be sure to change the code for all corresponding items in the Assemblies file, and in the Comparisons file if the item has 'compared' as a source. That way the MacNail construction management software will still be able to use the price correctly during unit cost updating. |
