Changing Assemblies |
NOTE-- We retired the MacNail estimating program in 2000, and replaced it with Goldenseal construction estimating software. There are still a significant number of die-hard MacNail users, so we keep the manuals online for them! Goldenseal is an integrated program that also includes accounting, scheduling and contract writing. It's easy to change assemblies in Goldenseal. To change an existing material assembly, first open the MacNail Assemblies file. To do that, choose Open File from the File menu, then click on Assemblies. As an alternative, choose Material Assemblies from the MacNail (McN) menu. If the assemblies are not already grouped numerically by item code, choose Sort Special from the Data menu, and sort by item code. To see an assembly in the MacNail construction management software, first check its item code number in the Price Master or an estimating file, then scroll to the rows with that number in the item code column. To add a new material item to an assembly, follow the steps in the previous section. Be sure to number the new items with the same item code number as the existing item. To remove a material item from an assembly, click anywhere in the first row you'd like to remove, drag the mouse down through any other rows you'd like to remove, then choose Delete Rows from the Edit menu To change a material item, click in the 'material used' cell and type in a new material name. To change a quantity or waste factor, click in the appropriate cell and type in a new number. |
