Entering Employee & Vendor Names |
Employee and Supplier Names The first nine columns of the Master Index store information about anyone to whom you pay money. The code numbers at the far left will refer to each of the employees, suppliers or subcontractors in the Master Index. Using our sample index, a 1 (one) entered into the Labor Log will 'look up' Dennis. A 1 entered into the Material Log will 'look up' Cayuga Lumber. NOTE-- In 2000, MacNail was replaced by Goldenseal construction accounting software. Goldenseal is an integrated program that includes general accounting, job costing, payroll and project billing, plus estimating and other features. It uses accounts for vendors and employees, with easier data entry and better record access. The MacNail construction accounting software stores the name of each employees in the Labor column. Each person has an hourly wage rate in the wage column. A burden factor is also stored for each employee--it adjusts gross labor costs to include an estimate of employer payroll taxes, to increase the accuracy of job costing. Each employee also has a number of withholding
exemptions and a workman's compensation rate. The name of miscellaneous construction suppliers will go into the Other column. This will include utilities, insurance, building permits, equipment, and anything else that is not labor, materials or subcontractors. The MacNail accounting software lists each subcontractor in the Subcontractor
column. |
