Wall Cut Framing Cost |
Construction Item Description Construction estimating unit cost for a cut through an existing wall, and then installation of headers. This item applies to a new doorway or pass-through installed in an existing wall during a remodeling project or rehab. Unit Size One cut. Labor Costs We figure about 2.2 hours for a skilled carpenter to make the cut and install the header framing on the sides and top. The price is only for the cut, material removal and new framing. It does not cover any complications like electrical wireing or plumbing in the wall, and does not cover any patching or repairs of the finished surfaces, nor installation of a threshhold or other finished floor in the opening.
