Can I run Goldenseal over the Internet? Can I use a web brower for it?

Yes, you can run Goldenseal over the Internet, but it does not run over the World Wide Web. Goldenseal is accounting software, and the Web is not secure enough! You probably don't want people to hack into your accounting data, and the browser interface makes it too easy for people to be able to do that.

NOTE-- You are able to do banking and shopping on the Web, because Web-based companies have secure servers, and staff dedicated to maintaining security. You probably won't be able to keep your home office server as secure as the ones used by Amazon or your credit card company (and even those are prone to occasional data breaches).

To get a secure Internet connection that Goldenseal can use safely, set up a VPN (Virtual Private Network). That provides a much higher degree of security. It is not very hard to set up or sign on with, and it gives a much higher level of security than is possible via the Web.
