Assembly Labor & Assembly Materials

Can I include just the labor or materials cost from an assembly?

Starting with Goldenseal estimating software version 2.5, you can include just part of the cost of an assembly.

Assembly Labor

Use Assembly labor when you are only providing the labor to install an item. That may be the case if a client is providing their own materials, or if you are a subcontractor and someone else is providing materials.

To enter an Assembly labor item in an estimate, follow these steps:

1. Click in the bottom row of the breakdown table in an estimate that has an Items breakdown.
2. Add a new row-- press the Return key or Enter key.
3. Enter Assembly Labor in the Cost Area column.
4. Enter an Assembly into the Cost Item field.

Assembly Materials

Use Assembly materials when you are only providing the materials for an item. That may be the case if you are subcontracting the installation of an item, but provide the materials.

To enter an Assembly materials item in an estimate, follow these steps:

1. Click in the bottom row of the breakdown table in an estimate that has an Items breakdown.
2. Add a new row-- press the Return key or Enter key.
3. Enter Assembly Material in the Cost Area column.
4. Enter an Assembly into the Cost Item field.
