Can I add pictures to Goldenseal records?

Sure, there are several ways to include graphics in Goldenseal accounting software:

Static Graphics

If you'd like to add a graphic to your printed forms, reports or data entry layouts, follow these steps:

  1. Open a graphics program*, and open the graphic image.
  2. Choose Copy from the Edit menu.
  3. Open Goldenseal.
  4. Choose Custom Layouts from the Options menu, and choose the type of layout from the submenu.
  5. Use the popup fields at upper left to locate the record you'd like to change.
  6. Click in the layout, and choose Paste from the Edit menu.
  7. You can drag the graphic image anywhere on the layout.

NOTE-- On Macintosh, you can use any graphics program that supports PICT format. On Windows, use any graphics program that uses a QuickTime-supported file format (PICT, .png, .jpg etc). Here's another link about graphics formats that may help.

Picture Fields

Assemblies, Cost Items and Rental Units include a picture field where you can paste in graphic images. The image applies to just that record. To add a graphic image to a record, follow these steps:

  1. Open a graphics program, and open the graphic image.
  2. Choose Copy from the Edit menu.
  3. Open Goldenseal.
  4. Locate the record where you'd like to add the graphic.
  5. Click in the picture field, and choose Paste from the Edit menu.

Bids and Estimates also include an optional picture field. It is not on the standard layout, but you can add it. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Choose Custom Layouts from the Options menu, and choose Transactions from the submenu.
  2. Click on the Transaction field at upper left and choose Bids or Estimates.
  3. Click on the field tool (fourth row left).
  4. Click in the layout, and drag through the rectangle where you'd like to have the picture field.
  5. You'll see a list of optional fields. Choose Picture, and click OK.
  6. Choose Save from the File menu.
  7. The next time you open the record viewer, you'll see a picture field where you can paste in graphics.

Custom Picture Fields

You can add a custom picture field to any account or transaction record in the Goldenseal business management software program. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Choose Custom Layouts from the Options menu, and choose Accounts or Transactions from the submenu.
  2. Use the popup fields at upper left to open the layout you'd like to change.
  3. Choose New Custom Field from the Edit menu.
  4. Type in a field name, and enter Picture into the Type popup field.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Goldenseal will add the picture field to the layout. You can click and drag it elsewhere on the layout.

NOTE-- Custom picture fields are new in Goldenseal 2.52 and later. You won't be able to add them in earlier versions of Goldenseal.
