Palm Pilot/iPod/iPad Versions

Is there a version of Goldenseal for hand-held devices?

Sorry, we currently do not have a version of Goldenseal small business software for the Palm Pilot, Blackberry, Android, iPod, iPad, iPhone or other smartphones, tablets or PDA's.

Many Goldenseal functions require more memory and screen size than is available on the iPhone, Android and similar devices, right now. In addition, the operating systems on hand-held devices are simply not designed for business applications such as Goldenseal. Our software stores large amounts of inter-related data, and it's currently not possible to create a "junior" version with sufficient functionality to run a business.

That situation may change in future years, as hand-held devices (and the processors inside them) become more advanced. The Apple iPad is getting closer to what we would need to run Goldenseal on a hand-held device, and it may be possible to use its future generations (probably acting as a network client, to a copy of Goldenseal running on a Macintosh or Windows server).

Of course, laptop computers keep getting cheaper and lighter, and those are already designed to run business software such as Goldenseal. We suggest that you consider a cheap laptop computer to run Goldenseal (even an older, used machine will be fine). If you have Internet access while you are out of the office, you can even set up a VPN so you can link with the data stored in your office computer.

You can use Goldenseal's import and export features to link your Goldenseal data with the address book in your PDA.
