BidMagic Framing Estimates

Problem

user reports the "Show Cost" button in Edit Unit Prices is showing a material cost of 0 for some framing items.

Diagnosis

problem: THe material adjuster for the item depends on averageceiling & extspacing, and they're sure they've entered ceiling heights & stud spacings.

Solution

solution: in BidMagic Construction Estimating Software, unlike MacNail, the average ceiling height is prorated based
on the floor areas. So if they have entered rooms without floor areas (in remodeling bids) or don't have floor areas or max length & width entered for other bids, averageceiling reduces to 0. In order to get the material costs entering correctly for such items, they MUST enter some reasonable dimensions for floor area.

NOTE-- We retired BidMagic estimating software back in 2002, and replaced with Goldenseal-- which is integrated estimating software and project management software (plus optional accounting software).
