Estimating Townhouse Construction

We still include this BidMagic estimating software manual as a convenience for users of our older program. Many features are similar, in Goldenseal estimating.

Town House Estimating

You can use the BidMagic construction estimating software to estimate townhouse construction projects.

When estimating town houses or other side-by-side units, be sure to enter the lineal feet and square feet of party walls into the Basic Dimensions card, and the amount of party wall framing on the Structural Dimensions card.

If estimating for just one unit and then multiplying, enter the party wall measurements for just one unit.

Otherwise enter the total amount of party walls in the entire project.

In Specifications, town houses will usually have some kind of special treatment, such as masonry fill or fire-rated wallboard, on the party walls. In most cases you'll also need parapets or some other fireproofing detail on the roofs.
