NOTE-- We retired the BidMagic construction estimating software in 2001. It has been replaced by Goldenseal construction estimating software.

We still include this BidMagic estimating software manual as a convenience for users of our older program. Many features are similar, in Goldenseal estimating.

Covering Special Small-job Costs

When using the BidMagic estimating software on small construction projects, you'll often need to add special line items to cover costs that can safely be ignored on a larger project.

For example, in a bathroom remodel you might want to add a separate line item for temporary removal of the toilet and other fixtures. To do so:

Go to the Demolition card.
Click on a blank line item slot under Other Demolition, and choose Other from the pop-up menu.
Enter Remove toilets as a line item cost, and enter your estimate of what it will cost.

HINT: When tackling smaller projects, pay close attention to setup time, covered under Setup & Callbacks on the General Conditions 2 card. It can often be a significant part of the project cost!
