Typing in Numbers

NOTE-- We retired the BidMagic construction estimating software in 2001. It has been replaced by Goldenseal construction estimating software.

We still include this BidMagic estimating software manual as a convenience for users of our older program. Many features are similar, in Goldenseal estimating.

Entering Numbers Into Estimates

You can also type estimating numbers into BidMagic with the keyboard. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Use the mouse to move the cursor so it is within a number field (the box to the right of a nudge button). The cursor will change to a text editing bar.
  2. Double-click the mouse button to select the text.
  3. Type in a new number. NOTE: BidMagic makes sure that you only enter legitimate numbers into number fields. If you accidentally type in a non-number, you will be alerted.
  4. To enter the number and move to the next field, press the Tab key on the keyboard.

HINT: Some numbers have too many decimal places, and can't be entered with nudge buttons. You must use the keyboard to enter them.
