Exporting Estimates

NOTE-- We retired the BidMagic construction estimating software in 2001. It has been replaced by Goldenseal construction estimating software.

We still include this BidMagic estimating software manual as a convenience for users of our older program. Many features are similar, in Goldenseal estimating.

The BidMagic construction estimating software allows you to export text reports, which you can then open in a spreadsheet, word processor, or any other program that can read text files.

Exporting Dimensions

To export a list of all the dimensions in a BidMagic bid, follow these steps:

  1. Choose Export Dimensions from the Data menu.
  2. You'll be asked to enter a file name for the export. Give it any name you'd like, then click Save.
  3. Switch to a word processor or any other program that can open text files, and open the file. You may format it any way you 'd like.

Exporting Specifications

To export a detailed list of all the items of work selected in Specifications, follow these steps:

  1. Choose Export Specifications from the Data menu.
  2. You'll be asked to enter a file name for the export. Give it any name you'd like, then click Save.
  3. Switch to a word processor or any other program that can open text files, and open the file. You may format it any way you 'd like.

HINT: The Specifications list can be used as the starting point for a detailed Spec Sheet for the project. You can also open it in a spreadsheet program, and add formulas to turn it into a more detailed finished bid than is available directly through BidMagic.
