We still include this BidMagic estimating software manual
as a convenience for users of our older program. Many features are
similar, in Goldenseal estimating.

If you just purchased the BidMagic construction estimation
software for the first time, follow the installation
instructions on page 9 of the regular BidMagic Manual.
If you originally purchased BidMagic 1.2 and have received BidMagic 1.5 as part
of the Takeoff upgrade, follow these steps:
1. Put BidMagic Disk 1 into your floppy disk drive.
2. Double-click on the BidMagic Installer icon.
NOTE: If a window is not already open so you can see the Installer, first double-click on the floppy
disk icon at the upper right side of the screen.
3. An introductory window will appear—click Continue.
4. Click Install to install all of BidMagic. Click Custom to install just some BidMagic files.
5. You will be asked for a place to install BidMagic. If you are using MacNail, click on the MacNail
folder, then click Open. If you are not using MacNail, ‘navigate’ to where your BidMagic
Folder is located. In either case, you should see a BidMagic Folder in the list of folders.
NOTE: Do not open the BidMagic Folder, or you’ll get a second BidMagic Folder
installed inside the other one.

6. Click Save. The installation process may take several minutes.
7. When you are asked to insert the second BidMagic disk, put it into the floppy drive.
8. Quit from the Installer.
9. In the Macintosh Finder, find your BidMagic Folder. It should include BidMagic 1.5, BidMagic 1.5 Template,
and Transfer Manager 3.5. Inside the BidMagic Files folder, there should also be a new BidMagic Functions
file. If those files were accidentally installed elsewhere on your hard drive, move them to their proper
locations.
10. Locate the following obsolete files in the BidMagic Folder, and drag each one into the Trash Can— BidMagic
1.2, Transfer Manager 3.4.

11. The upgrade is complete!
