Estimating Subcontracted Work

NOTE-- We retired the BidMagic construction estimating software in 2001. It has been replaced by Goldenseal construction estimating software.

We still include this BidMagic estimating software manual as a convenience for users of our older program. Many features are similar, in Goldenseal estimating.

Subcontract Work

The BidMagic construction estimating software is set up to give a 'full project' bid, including all items of work from site preparation or demolition through to final cleanup. If you are subcontracting just part of the work, it is easy to 'turn off' the work you are not doing yourself.

For example, if you are acting as a subcontractor and are not responsible for electrical and plumbing work, follow these steps:

Go to the Rough Plumbing card in Specifications.
Click on the button just to the right of the title, and select Flat Fee.
Enter zero under labor, materials and subs.
Go to the Rough Electric, Finish Plumbing and Finish Electric cards, and repeat steps 2 and 3.
