NOTE-- We retired the BidMagic construction estimating software in 2001. It has been replaced by Goldenseal construction estimating software.

We still include this BidMagic estimating software manual as a convenience for users of our older program. Many features are similar, in Goldenseal estimating.

Operating Cost Estimating

To get accurate estimates from BidMagic estimating software, you'll need to enter your basic operating costs, so BidMagic will know how much it costs you to do business.

Operating costs are divided into three parts.

The Basic Costs card handles 'fudge factors' and wage rates.

The Overhead & Profit card handles overhead, profit and contingency percentages.

The Soft Costs card handles supervision, inflation, interest costs, and a few other 'indirect' costs.

HINT: Since many operating costs will be the same for each of your jobs, you can enter them into a template, so you won't have to type them in for each estimate that you do.
