NOTE-- We retired the BidMagic construction estimating software in 2001. It has been replaced by Goldenseal construction estimating software. We still include this BidMagic estimating software manual as a courtesy for users of our older program. Many features are similar, in Goldenseal estimating.

Estimating Basic Business Costs

To enter your basic business costs into BidMagic, choose Basic Costs from the Navigate menu.

This is where you'll enter fudge factors, locality and quality factors, and wage rates.

Click Rough Estimate to get a 'ballpark' price. In a rough estimate, you'll be able to use the Locality Factor and Quality Factor to make quick adjustments to costs.

NOTE: When entering Dimensions and Specs in a rough estimate, you'll probably take some short cuts to speed things up.

Click Finished Bid for maximum accuracy. The Locality Factor and Quality Factor will not be available. Instead, you'll use specific line item costs to adjust the project price up or down.
