Estimating Floor Framing |
The BidMagic construction estimating software includes unit costs for floor framing and subfloors. Sill & Floor Framing Estimates Floor Framing includes basement and floor framing, plus the cost of installing structural beams and trusses. To get to this card, click on the Structures button on the Specs Directory, then choose Sill & Floor Framing from the pop-up menu. NOTE: Light metal studs and joists are included in the three Framing cards. I-beams and other heavy metal framing items are handled under Ironwork instead. Sills & Basements covers the cost of mud sills, treated wood foundations, basement wall framing, and basement floor framing. NOTE: Some basement wall framing items use the basement ceiling height to adjust the cost of materials, so one line item can cover any ceiling height. Beams & Trusses covers heavy structural elements such as built-up beams, load-bearing trusses, and timber frame construction. Since beams and structural trusses are usually unique to each project, enter them based on the exact items included in the project blueprints. NOTE: Light floor and roof trusses are handled under Floor Framing and Roof Framing respectively. Floor Assemblies includes floor joists, light floor trusses or floor sleepers, and subflooring. Most floor joists and floor items include a material adjustment for joist spacing, while subflooring includes an adjustment for the plywood thickness (both entered on the Structural Dimensions card). Using this adjustment allows one line item to cover several possible construction choices. HINT: If you can't read the entire name of a line item, click on the text of the name--you'll temporarily be able to see the entire name.
