Estimating Finish Dimensions

NOTE-- We retired the BidMagic construction estimating software in 2001. It has been replaced by Goldenseal construction estimating software.

We still include this BidMagic estimating software manual as a convenience for users of our older program. Many features are similar, in Goldenseal estimating.

The BidMagic construction estimating software calculates finish quantities for drywall, painting, insulation and other finish details.

To enter finish dimensions, choose Dimensions from the Navigate menu, then click on the Finish button in the Dimensions directory.

HINT: You can also click on the Compass button and choose Dimensions, then choose Finish from the submenu.

The Finish Dimensions card allows you to adjust overall gross and net areas for the project. You can also adjust paint and insulation dimensions on this card.

NOTE: Gross and net areas are both provided since some subcontractors base their prices on the simple gross area, and some use the net area after subtracting for doors, windows and wall plates. To determine whether gross or net areas are used for each area of work, go to the Preferences card (see page 96).
