Project Dimensions

NOTE-- We retired the BidMagic construction estimating software in 2001. It has been replaced by Goldenseal construction estimating software.

We still include this BidMagic estimating software manual as a convenience for users of our older program. Many features are similar, in Goldenseal estimating.

BidMagic estimating software uses a 'smart' dimensioning system. Enter easy-to-measure numbers such as wall lengths, floor areas and ceiling heights, and BidMagic will use them to compute tougher numbers such as siding and wallboard areas.

HINT: You only need to enter those dimensions that apply to the work you plan to do. If any numbers don't apply, set them to zero.

Using Project Dimensions

To enter project dimensions, follow these steps:

Choose Dimensions from the Navigate menu. It will take you to the first Dimensions card.
Enter any information that applies to your project.
Click the Right Arrow button (at upper right) to move to the next Dimensions card.
Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you have finished the last Dimensions card and moved on to Specifications.

HINT: To enter Dimensions out of order, use the Compass button (see page 21) or the Dimensions Directory card.
