Using Cycle Buttons

NOTE-- We retired the BidMagic construction estimating software in 2001. It has been replaced by Goldenseal construction estimating software.

We still include this BidMagic estimating software manual as a convenience for users of our older program. Many features are similar, in Goldenseal estimating.

BidMagic uses cycle buttons to make it easy to choose from several possible choices. To practice using a cycle button, follow these steps:

  1. Click the mouse on the cycle button for the Locality Factor (at middle left on the Basic Costs card). NOTE: If you don't see the Locality Factor, click on the Rough Estimate button at top left.
  2. The cycle button will move to the next locality.
  3. Click the mouse again to move to the next locality. You can also keep holding the mouse down to cycle through all the possible choices. HINT: You can also click on the Locality icon (the small picture next to the cycle button).
  4. To see a pop-up menu showing all choices, hold down the Option key when you click on the cycle button.
  5. Select one of the choices from the pop-up menu, and it will be used.
