NOTE-- We retired the BidMagic construction estimating
software in 2001. It has been replaced by Goldenseal construction
estimating software.
We still include this BidMagic estimating software manual
as a convenience for users of our older program. Many features are similar, in Goldenseal estimating.
The BidMagic estimating software uses many pop-up buttons
in Specifications. They let you choose the construction items to be included in the project.
To use pop-up buttons, follow these steps:
Choose Specifications from the Navigate menu. You'll
go to a Directory card that can take you to any card in Specifications.
Click the
Right Arrow button to go to the first Specifications card--General Conditions 1.
Use the mouse to move
the 'finger' pointer so it's over one of the pop-up buttons.
Hold down the mouse button until
a menu 'pops' up--it may take a second or two on a very
slow computer. Then move the cursor with the mouse until you've selected the construction item you'd
like to use.
Release the mouse button, and the selected item will be added to the bid.
A 'suggested' quantity
will be used for the item, unless it has no 'suggested' formula.
You can change the quantity by unlocking the item's padlock.
