The Price Box

When you click the Calculator button (or choose Calculate from the Bid menu), the BidMagic estimating software calculates a bid price for your construction project, and displays it in the Price Box at the top of the card.

NOTE: Some cards do not display the Price Box. If you don't see it, choose Specifications from the Navigate menu (or go to any other card that displays the Price Box).

In the Price Box you'll see both the current project price, and the change in price since the last time you recalculated.

HINT: The 'change' value is very helpful when asking 'what-if' questions (see page 119)

If you locked the Project Cost value on the first Dimensions card and the cost has changed by more than 10% since the last recalculation, you'll be warned that you should calculate again to avoid inaccuracies.

NOTE: If the Project Cost is locked, the calculated project cost may continue to change slightly each time you recalculate, since each revised price will slightly change the cost of building permits and other costs based on the 'bottom line' or the project duration--which will change the total project cost and the project duration, and so on.

To see a detailed breakdown of costs, click in the Price Box, or choose Bottom Line from the Navigate menu.
