Estimating Export Options

NOTE-- We retired the BidMagic construction estimating software in 2001. It has been replaced by Goldenseal construction estimating software.

We still include this BidMagic estimating software manual as a convenience for users of our older program. Many features are similar, in Goldenseal estimating.

Unit Price Export Options

When you export unit prices from the MacNail estimating software, you'll be given several options, which you can choose in step 4 of the export (see previous section).

Turn on Warn about Problems to have the MacNail construction estimating software stop and warn you about any problems that occur. Turn off this option to skip any item with problems.

Under Export, choose Material Prices Only to update just material unit prices. Choose Labor and Material Prices to update both labor and material unit prices. Choose Everything to update labor and material unit prices, suggested formulas, formula modifiers, and titles.

NOTE: The Material Prices Only option will be fastest, while Everything takes much longer because of the extra information that needs to be processed and transferred.

Under Date Range, choose Everything to export all items in the Price Master. Choose Items changed since to use just the items that have been changed since the date you type in.

Under Items to Use, choose All Prices to export all items in the Price Master. Choose Flagged items only to export only just those items that have text of some kind in the 'flag' column of the Price Master. Choose Selected range only to export only those rows that are highlighted in the Price Master.

NOTE: Selected Range is available only if the Price Master is currently the active document. Be sure to drag the mouse through those rows you'd like to export, before you start.
