Changing Estimating Formulas

NOTE-- We retired the BidMagic construction estimating software in 2001. It has been replaced by Goldenseal construction estimating software.

We still include this BidMagic estimating software manual as a convenience for users of our older program. Many features are similar, in Goldenseal estimating.

The BidMagic construction estimating software lets you modify any estimating formulas.

To change the formula for any unit cost, select it in the list on the left side of the Unit Price Editor, then click one of the Edit buttons at right. You'll jump to the Formula Editor, a card that allows you to build new formulas.

The Formula Editor provides you with tools that make it easy to create BidMagic formulas. If the line item already has a formula, it will be displayed in the Formula Box. If there is no formula for the item, the Formula Box will be blank.

To add to the existing formula, use the Construction Quantities buttons and the keypad to place more items at the end of the formula.

To delete a formula, click Clear Formula, then click OK.

To create a completely new formula, click Clear Formula to erase the current formula, then use the Construction Quantities buttons and the keypad to build a new formula.
