Resetting Memory

NOTE-- In 2000 we retired MacNail construction software, and replaced it with an improved program: Goldenseal software for construction. Our computer software programs are developed for builders, remodelers and other small business. Goldenseal is an integrated program that handles accounting, construction estimating, and project management, plus simple construction scheduling. You don't need Microsoft Excel in order to run Goldenseal, and you won't have to worry about memory issues on any computer built since 1995 or so.

Excel 2.2 Memory for Project Scheduling

If you are using Excel version 2.2 or greater, we strongly recommend that you have a minimum of two megabytes of RAM to run the MacNail project management software. If you currently have a 1-megabyte Macintosh, you should either use Excel version 1.5 or plan to add the extra memory to your computer.

To reset Excel's memory partition for the MacNail construction scheduling software:
1. Quit Excel.
2. Click once on the Excel application icon to select it.
3. Choose Get Info from the File menu.
4. For Excel 1.5-- type 1000 (K) into the 'memory size' box at the lower right.
5. For Excel 2.2-- enter any number you wish. We recommend at least 1000. You can adjust it up from there depending on your needs and the memory available in your computer.
