Scheduling with Macintosh & Windows

NOTE-- MacNail construction software is now retired-- in 2000, we replaced it with Goldenseal construction software. Goldenseal is an integrated program that handles simple construction project scheduling, plus accounting, construction estimating, and project management features. Like MacNail, the Goldenseal construction software runs on both Macintosh and Windows computers. With the multi-user version, you can even use both platforms at the same time!

Using the Macintosh

This manual assumes that you already have some experience with the Macintosh computer.
You should know--
* How to use the mouse.
* How to type from the keyboard.
* You'll also need a few basic "desktop" skills such as copying and moving files between disks.

If you are completely new to the Mac, we suggest that you practice first with instructional aids like the Macintosh Guided Tour that comes with your computer.

See also page 6 for information about User's Groups and other ways of getting help with the MacNail construction scheduling software and the Macintosh computer

Using Windows

This manual assumes that you already have some experience with the DOS computer and Windows.
You should know:
* How to start up your computer.
* How to begin a Windows session.
* How to manage files, using DOS and/or Windows.
* How to move the mouse.
* How to use menus.
* How to type from the keyboard.
* How to use the Windows File Manager to move files and directories.

If you are completely new to the computer, we suggest that you practice first with an experienced person at your side.

Note: Your screen may look sightly different than the pictures in this manual, depending on your computer and the version of Windows that you use.

Note: MacNail is also available for the Macintosh computer, and it was originally programmed for the Macintosh.
